Job Title: Patient Safety Monitor

Schedule:
Full availability is a must three 12-hour shifts per week

• Day Shift: 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM
• Night Shift: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM

Position Summary:
The Patient Safety Monitor (PSM) plays a vital role in maintaining a safe environment for patients requiring continuous observation. The PSM supports both direct (bedside) and remote (telehealth) monitoring of patients. This role requires strong communication skills, vigilance, and a commitment to patient safety and customer service. PSMs also assist with virtual monitoring of up to 11 patients, support admissions/discharges, and provide coverage during staff breaks. The wage is $18 an hour!

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor patient activities to ensure safety, under the direction of the primary nurse.
• Notify the primary or charge nurse of any safety concerns.
• Document all observations accurately in the patient's electronic medical record.
• Support the care team by assisting with virtual monitoring duties, including admitting and discharging patients.
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain professionalism at all times.
• Participate in training and quality improvement activities.

Qualifications:
Experience:

• Previous work or volunteer experience involving customer service tasks (e.g., answering questions, communicating information) required.

Certifications & Training:

• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association required.
