At CableCom, as a Safety Manager, you'll provide subject matter expertise on Safety and Health matters, conduct training for the workforce, and ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Local safety and health regulations. This position reports directly to the Safety Director and is responsible for our Washington and Oregon locations. Preferred candidates will be capable of providing subject matter expertise on Safety and Health matters, training the workforce, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

What you'll do as a Safety Manager

  1. Monitor and ensure compliance with applicable Federal, State, and Local regulations for all operations and job sites.
  2. Ensure adherence to all company safety policies and requirements.
  3. Conduct accident investigations and root cause analyses for workplace injuries and vehicle collisions.
  4. Perform facility inspections and risk assessments, ensuring all findings are addressed.
  5. Develop and update safety and health programs as needed.
  6. Conduct scheduled and unscheduled inspections to verify compliance with regulations and safety policies.
  7. Ensure project managers and employees follow company policies, inspection protocols, and proper utilization of assets.
  8. Oversee completion of Job Safety Observations (JSOs) and Job Task Safety Analyses (JTSAs) by foremen and supervision.
  9. Inspect and monitor aerial and underground operations to verify trained and certified personnel are conducting work properly.
  10. Review DriveCam data to assess driving behaviors and provide coaching or refresher training as needed.

What you'll need

  • Authorization to work in the United States.
  • Bachelor's degree in Health and Safety, Environmental Science or Management, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of safety experience in telecommunications construction.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and other relevant safety regulations.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CSP, OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR trainer).
  • Excellent communication skills; fluency in Spanish is a plus.
  • Motivated, creative, and proactive in addressing safety issues.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Google Suite.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Willingness to travel within Washington and Oregon (75% field work, company vehicle provided).

Physical abilities & exposures

  • Standing: 2-4 hours daily
  • Walking: 2-4 hours daily
  • Sitting: 6-8 hours daily
  • Driving: 4-6 hours daily

Salary Range: $75,000 - $90,000 per year
