DIVISION/LOCATION: Fiber Cement Siding / White City, Oregon

POSITION TITLE: Human Resources Manager

REPORTS TO TITLE: Corporate HR Director

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for the overall Human Resources function within the White City, Oregon plant including, employee relations, compensation, benefits, training, recruiting, on-boarding, off-boarding, payroll processing and ensuring compliance with all Local, State, and Federal regulations and laws. Provide strong support role to the EHS Manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide HR support and guidance to all levels of the organization with emphasis on talent acquisition, Local, State, and Federal labor and employment law compliance, benefits, compensation, training and development, and employee relations.
  • Manage government, company and local EHS programs and initiatives through the site EHS Manager to ensure that the site is in compliance with all requirements and reporting. Provide support to create a world class manufacturing environment in terms of OSHA lost-time / recordable statistics.
  • Manage workman compensation claims
  • Provide post-accident drug screen transportation including after hours as needed
  • Work with site management to develop and maintain effective employee relations programs
  • Responsible for screening, interviewing, and hiring new employees
  • Develop communication both for local corporate HR policies and procedures
  • Identify training and development needs and coordinate programs
  • Process payroll hours and pay adjustments for the White City hourly employees
  • Provide manual adjustments for salaried employees to corporate HR for the White City plant
  • Actively participates in White City safety steering committee and the plant safety committee serving as secretary for both, as well as conducts plant safety audits, and provide administrative safety support to the EHS manager, including attending all safety meetings.
  • Participate in training programs to enhance environmental and safety performance
  • Understand the significant environmental impacts of the job activities and the consequences of departing from specified work instructions
  • Know where EHS documents are located
  • Administrative office support as needed
  • Maintain security schedule for plant
  • Coordinate with uniform company on new hires, terminations and all changes
  • Schedule plant cleaning as needed and serve as main contact to the contracted provider

KNOWLEDGE

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or Labor Relations. Preference will be given to candidates with a Professional Human Resources certification.
  • Five (5) plus years of progressive Human Resources and HSE experience preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of government policies and regulations to include EEO/AA, OSHA, FLSA, ADA, ADEA
  • Excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint (MS office suite)
  • Knowledge of ADP Workforce Now HRIS a plus.

  • Position may require approximately 15% travel
  • Must be willing to work outside normal working hours to accommodate needs of the plant.
  • Other duties as assigned
