As a Warmline Operator, you will play a vital role in providing non-judgmental, confidential peer support to callers across the state during the early morning hours. Working independently yet collaboratively within a supportive team, you will contribute to a positive and inclusive mental health environment. This role is perfect for individuals with lived experience who are passionate about supporting others through empathetic listening and intentional dialogue. It's a unique opportunity to join a mission-driven initiative focused on mental wellness and peer support.

Accountabilities:

  • Answer statewide calls during assigned shifts, offering emotional support using Intentional Peer Support (IPS) techniques.
  • Engage in training sessions and team-building to strengthen service quality and communication.
  • Maintain accurate and professional records, data logs, and reports related to warmline activity.
  • Collaborate with Shift Leaders and Supervisors to improve processes and ensure quality service.
  • Communicate effectively and respectfully with team members, adhering to all internal policies.
  • Participate in statewide conference calls and ongoing learning opportunities.

Requirements
  • Must have lived experience navigating mental health challenges and be open to sharing supportively.
  • Completion of IPS Core Training and registration as a Peer Support Specialist with the Oregon Health Authority within 6 months of hire.
  • Ability to work independently, manage confidential information, and participate in regular development activities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to cultural awareness and trauma-informed practices.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office, managing digital records, and handling multi-line phone systems.
  • Must pass required criminal background checks and ongoing federal/state screenings.
