Has demonstrated a basic understanding of fundamental analytical principles. Knowledgeable in at least one technical or programmatic area in which the Authority is currently involved. Has awareness of relevant energy related aspects of research, environmental science and economics. Basic skills include an ability to interpret and analyze. Ability to produce quality communications, and demonstrate an aptitude to learn.
Creativity in Project & Program Development
Implements task and project ideas suggested by others. Assists other project managers to develop and manage projects, or manages own projects under close supervision
Organization Skills & Productivity
Is productive on assignments but dependent on others for direction. Has capability to manage technical and cost control aspects of multiple on-going projects with close supervision. Approaches tasks logically and makes effective use of time and resources in performing work. Ability to assist in project's inception and through to completion, showing an ability to figure out next steps.

Primary Responsibilities, and Minimum and Preferred Qualifications

" Exceptional writing and content development: Ability to craft a variety of written materials, including releases and social media posts to executive remarks and technical summaries that can be tailored to different audiences, such as general public, media, and industry professionals.
" Project and Stakeholder Management: Strong organizational skills to manage multiple deadlines, coordinate with internal NYGB teams and NYSERDA counterparts, and oversee the internal approval process for communications and events.
" Strategic Messaging and Storytelling: Skilled in translating complex financial or technical data into compelling narratives that highlight impact and drive engagement among stakeholders like clean energy developers and financiers.
" Digital and Media Coordination: Experience managing digital communications, including social media strategy and email marketing, in collaboration with larger corporate marketing teams or CRM systems.
Are there any specialized skills that must be present for the position to be successful?
" Familiarity with Canva or other graphic design platforms
" Preferred but not required:
- About three years of experience in corporate communications, public affairs, or public relations, or a comparable combination of education and experience.
- Familiarity with clean energy infrastructure development and/or financial markets is a strong plus.
Education, Certifications, Degree requirements
Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, government affairs, or a related field.

Tasks
NY Green Bank Communications
- Develop messaging and content related to NYGB's activities, events, and announcements.
- Draft and edit a wide range of written materials, including press releases, op-eds, executive remarks, interview and speaking materials, social media content, regulatory updates, event briefings, award applications, marketing collateral, and more.
- Manage NYGB's contact database and email distribution lists, coordinating with NYSERDA's Marketing and CRM teams to create and deploy audience-targeted email campaigns.
- Serve as one of the initial points of contact for individuals seeking information about NYGB, including managing the firm email inbox
NYSERDA Communications & Marketing
- Act as the main point of contact between NYGB and NYSERDA's Corporate Communications and Marketing teams to coordinate cross-agency communications initiatives.
- Collaborate with NYSERDA's Social Media Manager to plan and execute NYGB's messaging across digital platforms.
- Support the development and distribution of media-related content and coordinate with NYSERDA's Events and Marketing teams on a regular basis.
- Prepare and align talking points for media inquiries, interviews, and speaking engagements, reflecting both NYGB's and NYSERDA's strategic communications priorities.
- Manage the internal approval process for NYGB staff participation in speaking engagements and external events.
