Employer is looking to fill 90 Forestry Worker positions. This is a temporary, full-time seasonal position from March 3, 2025, to December 17, 2025. Requirements: 3 months of forestry and commercial brush saw/chainsaw experience. At least 18 due to travel. Able, willing, and qualified to perform work described and must be available for the entire period specified and work throughout all areas of intended employment.
Employer Notes: Begin/report to work in Medford, Jackson County, OR 97504, at $25.15 per hour. Employer will transport workers daily between report to work address and additional worksites within the states of: CA, CO, ID, MT, NM, NV, OR, UT, WA, and WY. Must show proof of legal authority to work in the US. Drug/alcohol/tobacco free work zone. Worker may have random drug/alcohol testing during employment: positive test/refusal to abide equals dismissal. Possible background check post hire at employer's expense. Must pass fitness test.
Job Duties: Pruning, pre-commercial thinning, brushing, piling, pile covering, tree planting, scalping, paper mulch application & trail construction. Incidental driving possible and other related Forestry Worker activities as per SOC/OES 45-4011 (onetonline.org). Work is performed outdoors, exposed to weather; perform physically strenuous labor for long hours, occasionally in extreme heat or cold. Walk substantially (up to 15 miles/day), also stoop, bend while carrying a pack (up to 50lbs) thru rough terrain (non-trail).
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00AM to 3:00PM. Offering 35 (plus) hours per week; not including applicable lunch and/or breaks. Possible weekend/holiday work. Start/end times, offered hours and/or overtime could vary as they may be dependent upon other factors such as project/schedule/service needs, weather and commute time between worksites (if applicable). Varying weather conditions apply; hours may fluctuate, possible downtime and/or OT. Employer will comply with all applicable Federal, State, and local employment-related laws and regulations such as wages, breaks, hours worked, and OT hours (OT possible, but not required or guaranteed. If OT is worked, wage is paid at 1.5x regular rate of pay per hour worked beyond 40 hours each week.). Wage: $16.00 per hour up to possible $25.15 per hour. OT $24.00 per hour up to possible $37.73 per hour. Wage may vary based on experience and/or location worked. Will use single workweek as standard for computing wages due. Wage paid every 2 weeks. All deductions required by law will be made by the employer as well as any further tax withholding or other reasonable deduction(s) authorized by the worker.
