About the Role

The Company is seeking an Academic and Career Coach to provide academic advising and intensive case management to both prospective and current students. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and maintaining advising relationships, analyzing data to determine appropriate actions, and assisting in the development and implementation of academic plans. This role also involves supplying career resources, reviewing academic records for concerns, and actively collaborating with program faculty on pathway and transfer advising. The Academic and Career Coach is expected to demonstrate the company's core values and contribute to a culture of respect and inclusivity. The position requires a professional who can communicate and work with a diverse population, maintain confidentiality, and assist students in problem-solving and goal identification. Applicants for the Academic and Career Coach position at the company should have an Associate's degree in a social science or related field, with a minimum of 3 years' experience in student advising or office work related to student services and counseling functions. Essential knowledge and skills include familiarity with college academic programs, support services, and various advising best practices. The role demands excellent communication, computer, and multitasking skills, as well as the ability to create a safe environment for personal and difficult conversations. The ideal candidate will have the ability to engage in professional development, demonstrate cultural competency, and be proficient in conversational Spanish.
