Salary $5,741 $7,692 per month DOE. Individuals hired by the City of Central Point as an Entry Level Police Officer will receive a minimum $5,741 monthly salary plus full benefits while attending the 16-week DPSST Police Academy, and attend the Academy at no cost.

Incentive Pay available:

• DPSST Certification: Intermediate - 3.5% added to monthly base pay; or Advanced - 7% added to monthly base pay.
• Bilingual in Spanish or Sign Language: 5% added to base pay.
• Degree from accredited college or university: Associate $150/mo., Bachelor $300/mo., or Masters $450/mo.

Benefits package includes: Full-family medical, dental, vision, and prescription coverage Health Insurance; employee contribution of $191.12 per month; city contribution of $170 per month to a Health Reimbursement Account; optional participation in a pre-tax Flexible Spending Account; paid time off including Vacation, Holiday time, and Sick Leave; Tuition Reimbursement opportunity; Life & Long Term Disability Insurance (additional life and other supplemental insurance may be purchased by the employee through payroll deduction); Fully paid Oregon PERS Retirement; and voluntary "457" Deferred Compensation Plan participation.

Minimum requirements:

• Have, or be able to obtain, a valid Oregon driver license at the time of appointment; and
• Have an acceptable driving record; and
• Be able to fully meet D.P.S.S.T. standard for employment as a law enforcement officer.

• June 1st or 2nd - In-Person Written Testing (Testing in Central Point, OR)

• July 1, 2026 Chief's Interviews (tentative date)
